If you're looking for the Minnesota Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (MOFAS) you have come to the right place. We have some exciting news about our organization. We have a new name! MOFAS has officially been renamed Proof Alliance. Our mission remains the same: to prevent prenatal alcohol exposure and to improve the quality of life for people living with fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD).

Why PR%F

We now have the proof that prenatal alcohol exposure is a leading cause of brain injury in children. We have the proof that FASD is 100% preventable and people living with an FASD can reach 100% of their potential.

Why Alliance?

We seek to build powerful alliances with people with an FASD, their families, legislators, experts in the field, new partners, and community members to bring awareness, research, and services to this field.

What's Next?

Proof Alliance is rebranding, expanding, and we're moving! We have a new logo, website, and prevention campaign to help change the norms around drinking during pregnancy. And in May 2019 we will be moving to a stand-alone building. Proof Alliance commits to the people of Minnesota and we will continue to develop transformative programs to help Minnesotans impacted by FASD.

Young Adult Leaders Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) Fellowship

About:

MOFAS invites young adults 18 – 35 with a known or suspected FASD to apply for our Young Adult Leaders FASD Fellowship.  This is an opportunity to learn professional skills while supporting youth with disabilities. The selected fellow will serve a one-year part-time appointment with MOFAS and will work as part of a team implementing and coordinating an innovative youth mentoring project for youth with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders.  The fellow will commit 20 – 25 hours per work to this project. A stipend of $10,000 will be provided.  This is not an employment position so the selected fellow will not be eligible for benefits.

The position will be located at the MOFAS central office at 2233 University Avenue West, Suite #395, Saint Paul, Minnesota 55114.

Duties:

The selected fellow will work in collaboration with a team on the implementation and program delivery of an innovative mentoring program for youth with an FASD.  Duties will include:

  • Participating in mandatory training and orientation sessions.
  • Participating as directed with team members in recruitment activities and outreach to help identify volunteer mentors and recruiting youth participants for the program.
  • Assisting with general office duties (i.e., filing, making copies, etc.) as needed.
  • Participating in community focused youth workgroups and meetings.
  • Participate in team meetings with staff, volunteers, and youth participants.
  • Assist with planning of events and staffing events providing support.
