If you're looking for the Minnesota Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (MOFAS) you have come to the right place. We have some exciting news about our organization. We have a new name! MOFAS has officially been renamed Proof Alliance. Our mission remains the same: to prevent prenatal alcohol exposure and to improve the quality of life for people living with fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD).

Why PR%F

We now have the proof that prenatal alcohol exposure is a leading cause of brain injury in children. We have the proof that FASD is 100% preventable and people living with an FASD can reach 100% of their potential.

Why Alliance?

We seek to build powerful alliances with people with an FASD, their families, legislators, experts in the field, new partners, and community members to bring awareness, research, and services to this field.

What's Next?

Proof Alliance is rebranding, expanding, and we're moving! We have a new logo, website, and prevention campaign to help change the norms around drinking during pregnancy. And in May 2019 we will be moving to a stand-alone building. Proof Alliance commits to the people of Minnesota and we will continue to develop transformative programs to help Minnesotans impacted by FASD.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Pohlad Family Foundation, MOFAS has the opportunity to help eligible families pay for residential summer camps. Start a Parent and Caregiver Support Group!

support groupApply to become a volunteer MOFAS support group facilitator. MOFAS will equip the selected facilitators with information to start and maintain a support group for caregivers of children and adults with an FASD. MOFAS Family Retreat Registration Now Open

MOFAS Family RetreatThe MOFAS Fall Family Retreat will be June 30 – July 2 in Brainerd, just 150 miles northwest of the Twin Cities. The event is open to families raising children of all ages with an FASD, and their siblings. Enjoy a variety of family activities such as campfires, a nature center, swimming, feeding the hobby farm animals, crafts, glass bottom boat rides, and fishing. All activities are adapted for any level of participation, but parents must supervise children at all times to ensure a safe and fun weekend experience. The family retreat is a wonderful way to connect with other families and build lifelong friendships. Register Today

University of Minnesota Clinical Trial

University of Minnesota researchers are testing an intervention in young children (between the ages of 2.5 and 5) who have neurodevelopmental effects of prenatal alcohol exposure. The researchers are testing nutritional supplements (choline is the investigational drug being tested in this study) to determine if they can influence brain development and cognitive functioning.
