EmpowerED: Supporting Healthy Sexual Development
Join us online on Wednesday, July 22, from 6–7:15 p.m. CT to gain practical tools and confidence for talking with youth about healthy sexual development, relationships, and safety.
Healthy Sexual Development: What Caregivers Need to Know
Sexuality is a natural part of being human, yet many caregivers never receive guidance on how to navigate these important conversations. What is often thought of as “the talk” is actually a series of ongoing, age-appropriate discussions that take place throughout childhood and adolescence.
During this webinar, participants will explore typical sexual development from birth through age 18, learn to recognize behaviors that may be developmentally atypical and understand when additional support may be needed. Caregivers will also gain practical strategies for starting conversations, answering questions and responding to everyday situations with confidence.
By the end of the session, caregivers will feel better prepared to support healthy development, promote safety and foster positive relationships through open, informed communication.
Participants will receive:
- An overview of healthy sexual development from birth through age 18
- Guidance on recognizing developmentally atypical behaviors and knowing when to seek additional support
- Practical tools and activities to help start and continue conversations with youth
- Recommended resources, including books, websites and educational materials for continued learning
