Special guest Davia Christiansen, DOT, MSEd, MHI, MHA, OTR/L, serves as an occupational therapist at St. Paul Public School in St. Paul, Minnesota, overseeing twelve secondary schools and programs.
During this event, you will learn:
- How an IEP can support your child in adulthood, including goals, assistive technology, and the use of accommodations/modifications to increase student independence and intrinsic motivators
- Functional outcomes in adulthood (cooking, cleaning, banking, transportation, hygiene, etc.)
- How to add and incorporate functional goals/supports into an IEP before the age of fourteen
