Second Saturdays for Teens
Join us for an in-person teen skills group for youth with a known or suspected FASD. This skills group offers high school-aged teens with an FASD a fun, friendly and welcoming space to connect with peers who understand their experiences. Teens will have the opportunity to build skills, gain confidence and enjoy activities in a supportive environment.
Meet Adam, Skills Group Facilitator
Licensed psychotherapist and creative practitioner with a trauma-informed, person-centered approach
Adam is a licensed psychotherapist, trainer, and consultant based in the Twin Cities who brings deep clinical experience and creativity to his work as a skills group facilitator. He has a special interest in supporting individuals who have been harmed by systems of control, including survivors (ages 5 and up) of religious, spiritual, medical, and therapeutic abuse.
In 2006, Adam combined his passions for healing and the arts by founding Blank Slate Theatre, where he served for eleven years as Artistic Director. Working alongside ability- and culturally diverse adolescents, he helped create more than two dozen original theatre pieces exploring mental health and social change, including the award-winning Disordered [thy name is teenager] and Bottom, a play addressing child sex trafficking.
Outside of his professional work, Adam enjoys watching scary movies, singing musical theater and—by his own account—strengthening a broken spine, bringing humor, resilience and authenticity into everything he does.
